About the Speaker

Hepatology

Professor Simone Strasser is Head of Department and Senior Staff Specialist in the AW Morrow Gastroenterology and Liver Centre and the Australian National Liver Transplant Unit at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, as well as Professor at the University of Sydney. She has extensive expertise in hepatology and liver transplantation, with major clinical and research interests in primary liver cancer, viral hepatitis, metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MASLD), advanced liver disease, and liver transplantation. Professor Strasser serves as Director of Hepatology Clinical Trials at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and is principal investigator for multiple clinical trials evaluating novel therapies for liver disease and liver cancer. A respected international educator and speaker, she contributes to numerous educational, advisory, editorial, and administrative boards and committees both in Australia and internationally. She is also a past President of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.
