About This Conference
Alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) remains one of the leading causes of advanced liver disease and liver transplantation worldwide. Despite significant advances in understanding its pathogenesis and management, several aspects of ALD continue to generate debate among clinicians and researchers. This presentation will explore current controversies in ALD, including screening and diagnosis of alcohol use disorder, the role of biomarkers, management of alcohol-associated hepatitis, selection criteria for early liver transplantation, relapse prevention strategies, and emerging pharmacologic therapies. The session will also address evolving concepts such as MetALD, disparities in access to care, and the integration of multidisciplinary approaches to improve patient outcomes. Attendees will gain practical insights into navigating these challenging clinical scenarios while reviewing the latest evidence and guideline recommendations.
