About the Speaker
Transplant SurgeryProfessor Hugo Pinto Marques is a distinguished hepatobiliary and transplant surgeon based in Lisbon, Portugal. He serves as Head of General Surgery at Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central and is a leading member of the Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic and Transplantation Centre. He is also Professor of Surgery at NOVA Medical School and practices Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at CUF Tejo Hospital. Professor Marques holds several prominent leadership roles, including Vice-President of the Portuguese Surgical Society, Principal Investigator at CEDOC – Chronic Diseases Research Center, Secretary General of Les Compagnons Hépato-Biliaires, and Chairman of the Advisory Membership Committee of the European Surgical Association. His clinical and academic interests focus on hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and transplant surgery, with significant contributions to surgical innovation, education, and international collaboration in the field.
